ERIC WOODS LAW OFFICE SCHOLARSHIP FOR LATINO STUDENTS

The many advantages of advanced formal education are recognized by most Latino or Hispanic families in the United States.

To progress academically the most important factor is the desire and interest of the student. There is a financial component as well, since there are tuition and book costs, and a reduced ability to work full time, or at all, while studying.

Latino students often have to overcome obstacles that others may not face. Latino students may live in family situations where one or both parents don’t speak English, and or in which their parents may have very limited formal education. A student born abroad and who has lived for a time abroad may have challenges in adapting to a different culture.

At Eric Woods Law Office, we’re committed to helping people who have been harmed through no fault of their own, including individuals who have been seriously injured or who have had loved ones killed by drunk drivers. Our hope is that bright young Latino students will continue to study and pursue careers in public service or that demonstrate that Latinos can enjoy every success that can be achieved.

We appreciate the obstacles that Latinos may face in achieving success and advancing toward their educational goals. A formal education can be one tool in making for a more meaningful life.

The $1,000 scholarship will help a deserving minority student defray the costs of tuition and related expenses to continue their studies at any point after they have achieved an AA degree or the equivalent.
